Bidging the Gap Between Elite Athletics and Grassroots Talent Development
To understand the urgency of this challenge, we just need to look at the current grassroots athlete development landscape in Australia. On one side, we see the elite professional clubs using state-of-the-art medical testing, world-class staff, and immense resources deployed for player care and concussion protocols . On the other side, we see the reality of grassroots clubs that carry similar duties of care with a volunteer coach or parent standing on the boundary line with a basic first-aid kit, without the budgets or technology to monitor head impacts objectively. Our goal is for Headstart charity to act as the overarching champion to build a high-tech digital bridge between these two worlds, bringing elite-level head health monitoring technology directly to the community which enables safer participation in the sports we love.
The Solution & Partnership Model
Headstart affiliated community clubs will set the benchmark for player care, head health and concussion protocols. We will achieve this objectives through a partnership model. First is our foundation tech and our registered charity gateway: that’s Headstart. As the charity, we provide the regulatory framework, the monitoring platform, and the physical sensors. Second is the Community Club as the Champion & Distributor endorsing the initiative to your corporate network and grassroots members by utilising the program. Third is active participation by the grassroot member athletes, coaches and parents and the club’s local community network.
